Food Pantry & Free Farmers Market
Bright Star Community Development Corporation (BSCDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching and empowering the Tucson community. Our mission is to improve the lives of residents by providing vital services, with a current focus on addressing food insecurity.
To support this mission, BSCDC operates a food pantry and a free farmers market. In partnership with the Community Foodbank of Southern Arizona, we oversee a food pantry at a Tucson Unified School District site and provide food assistance to other local schools. We also collaborate with various organizations to tackle neighborhood clean-up efforts and promote health and wellness in the community.

Students in K-12
Youth Church is Rising Star’s commitment to guiding school-aged children and youth in Southern Arizona toward authentic relationships with Jesus Christ. At Rising Star, we refer to our youth as Rising Stars, and we focus on providing dynamic and engaging opportunities for students in K-12 to grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.
Inspired by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, which says: “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” We are dedicated to making disciples and nurturing the faith of the next generation.
